With the hope igniting inspiration amongst other women in Sri Lanka, ILO reached out to Roar to produce a tri-episode series as part of their ‘Healthy Socio - Economic Recovery of the Micro and Small Enterprise Sector in Sri Lanka.’ The series aimed to highlight how this project initiated by the ILO supported 3 female entrepreneurs to bounce back from the effects the COVID - 19 pandemic had on their small businesses.
Keeping in mind the key objectives of this project, the Roar Studios team conceptualised and produced a three episode series of short videos, with each episode featuring one female entrepreneur. Through a moving and inspiring narration of the entrepreneur's story in their own words, the video highlighted key factors of the relevant entrepreneurs' business, the struggles they were challenged with and the ways in which ILO assisted them to overcome their challenges through the Pandemic. Episode one featured Renuka Suraweera of Roosiru Bathik, episode two featured Achala Dissanayake who runs Achala Food Mix and episode three featured Rose Priyani Fernando who runs a coir-processing business.
